Annual Scholarships

Scholarship Applications are closed for the 2024-25 Academic Year.

AHS will award three $2,500 student scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year. Please consider applying

Are you a college junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in hydrology, hydrogeology, or another water-resources-related program at any 4-year university in Arizona? If so, you should consider applying for our academic scholarship!

The purpose of the award is to encourage full-time students in hydrology, hydrogeology, or another water-resources-related programs at an Arizona university or college to excel in their area of study. Any junior, senior, or graduate student who fits into this category can apply.

Undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D.
student applications are evaluated separately.

The scholarship will be awarded at the annual
AHS Symposium awards luncheon.


Previous winners of this academic scholarship are not eligible for this award; however, they can apply for our intern scholarship program.

Criteria

  • GPA based on at least four full semesters of course work
  • Strength of letter(s) of recommendation (at least one)
  • Application letter describing your interests / career goals in hydrology and water resources
  • Background in hydrology and water resources related activities (described in your resume)
  • Degree of need — explain your need for support and list relevant awards

Previous winners are ineligible but can apply for our Intern/Mentor Scholarship Program, which is administered separately.

  • Application form
  • Application letter that describes your financial need and lists all scholarships, internships, student aid, or financial awards that you will be receiving for the 2024–2025 academic year
  • Resume, including background in hydrology and water resources related activities
  • Unofficial transcripts (graduate and undergraduate for graduate applicants); official required for awardees
  • Confidential recommendation letters (at least one)
